Background[]
- An explosives expert by trade, Ken Takizawa (滝沢健) learned his craft through a combination of his connections to the Chicago underworld and on the set of Hollywood movies. In addition to being May's on-again off-again boyfriend, he taught her everything he knows. Ken is Japanese-American and about 20 years older than May. He also suffers from multiple sclerosis, which affects his ability to handle sensitive explosives.
- As a personal joke, he uses the nickname "Ken Taki", which is similar to the Japanese pronunciation of the state Kentucky as well as the fast food franchise, "kentakkī".
